Introduced in 1963, the 1016 was a successor to the earlier Explorer models and quickly gained popularity among adventurers, explorers, and professionals due to its robustness, reliability, and understated elegance.

The design of the Rolex Explorer 1016 embodies the essence of exploration and adventure. Its clean and minimalist dial features luminous hour markers and hands, ensuring readability even in low-light conditions. The watch is equipped with a durable stainless steel case and a waterproof Oyster case design, making it suitable for various outdoor activities, including mountaineering, hiking, and exploration.

Over the years, the Rolex Explorer 1016 has become highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, thanks to its association with exploration and adventure. Its timeless design and rugged construction have earned it a place among the most iconic and enduring timepieces in horological history.

This Rolex Explorer Reference 1016 'Mark 3 Dial' is a hard  one to let go. It boasts a pristine mark 3 dial, characterized by creamy markers that take on a warm, yellowish hue when under direct sunlight. The case retains its original, unpolished finish, but does show signs of wear as you expect from this classic toolwatch from 1975. The watch is fitted to its original 78360 bracelet thats shows no signs of stretch, and 580 endlinks.

The watch continues to operate smoothly, faithfully keeping time with precision. Despite this, we've made the deliberate decision not to undertake a complete overhaul of the movement
